It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Virginia A. DeMatthews, 87, of Barnegat, NJ on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
Ginger was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whose life was marked by her profound devotion to her family and leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and an unending zest for life. Her memory will forever be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those who loved her.
Predeceased by her husband William DeMatthews; her son, William; her partner, James Schooley.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Maryann DeMatthews and Lisa (Peter) Bonno; four cherished grandchildren Nichole (Brent) Gist, Rachael (Stephen) Quigley, Shane Bonno, Lex Bonno; three great-grandchildren Cole Quigley, Eva Quigley, and Kennedy Quigley; brother Michael (Terri) Bogdan.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 2 to 5 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ.
A Mass of Christian Burial offered Monday, 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat. Entombment to follow in Ocean County Memorial Park, Waretown. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
