George M. Lazarus, III Obituary
George passed away on May 25, 2026 at Southern Ocean Medical Center, surrounded by family and friends, after a long illness.
He was born September 2, 1978 in Lakewood, NJ. Growing up, he became a member of the St. Mary’s family and was involved in Cub Scouts.
His favorite thing to do was sit outside and enjoy the weather. He loved spending time with his family and friends. In his younger year, he liked quad riding, hanging in the garage drinking, camping, BBQing, amusement parks, arcades and just spending time with his kids, nieces and nephews. He loved his trips to Hard Rock Casino, in Atlantic City to play his favorite machine, Lobstermania. His new puppy kept him entertained when he could no longer leave home.
George spent the last 22 years with his wife building a life together and welcoming two children. He was so proud of his kids and their accomplishments.
He wasn’t one to give up. He was a real go-getter in life, even being chair-ridden. Physically, he was quite limited in the end, but he was so full of knowledge. George knew how to do everything.
We find comfort in knowing that he passwd on his own terms, when he was ready.
George is survived by his wife, Heather; the pride and joy of his life, his children, George (Elena), Sara; his puppy, Ozzy; father, George, Jr. and mother, Katalin whom he loved unconditionally; his brothers, David (Donna) and Richard (Michelle); his best friends that have been by his side throughout the good and bad times, Nicholas Peregman, David Laufgas (Marissa), David Wilson (Melissa) and Stephanie Gonzales; his nieces and nephews that meant so much to him, Dylan, Jake, Nicole, Alexis, RJ, Victoria, Aubree, Odie, Jacob, Liam and Amellia; his in-laws, Alan and Robin Doyle, Bryan and Lucy Smith, Meme Pearl Giberson; brothers-in-law, Matthew (Carleen), Dustin (Sara) and Jonathan. In addition, he will be missed by many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends throughout, NJ, PA, and NC.
Gorge was preceded in death by his little brother, Joseph, maternal grandparents, Mihaly and Katalin Bognar; paternal grandparents, George and Ruth Lazarus, his dog, Milo and grandfather-in-law, Harry Giberson Sr., whom he was very close with.
