Francis James Healey (73), of Barnegat, NJ, formerly of North Arlington, NJ, passed into eternal light on December 30, 2020.
Known as "Irish" by his Marine Corps brothers, Frank served during Vietnam (67-68) with the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines and was awarded two Purple Hearts. After his service, Frank returned to North Arlington and joined the North Arlington Police Department, rising to the rank of Captain before his retirement in 1994. He was a life-time member of the Marine Corps League (West Hudson Detachment), the Military Order of the Purple Heart, former President of the 1/9 Association and Commander of the Barnegat VFW Post 10092.
Son of the late Francis and Hazel Healey (née Dickenson.), Frank was a brother to all of his 1/9 Marine and police family. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years Barbara Healey (nee Schmidt), his cherished children James, William (wife, Casi) and Michael, and his pride and joy grandsons, Brendan and Ryan. Also survived by his loved brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

Per Frank’s request, there will be no viewing or memorial service. At a future date, a gathering will be held at his final resting place in Arlington National Cemetery (Arlington, VA.) where he will sign off his end of watch and begin his final post of guarding the streets of heaven.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s name would be appreciated to Hospice Care at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Stafford Township, NJ, whom lovingly cared for him and his family during his final moments.
