Elinor M. Ciccone, 89, of Barnegat passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin surrounded by her loving Family. Born in Jersey City to her late parents, James and Elinor Maiorca, she enjoyed a career in the Real Estate industry, in addition to being the proprietor of VIP Gifts. Elinor resided in both Flemington and Barnegat for over 40 years and was blessed with a full and active life. Elinor enjoyed numerous cruises with family and attendance at many Super Bowls, she could also be seen playing Bocce ball and Golf in Estero, FL, and her most treasured activity, playing cards with family at home in New Jersey.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Ferdinand Ciccone; a loving son, Charles Mataya and his wife Dianne; five cherished grandchildren, Ryan Mataya (Collette), Scott Mataya (Krupa), Tyler Mataya (Cassidy), Zachary Mataya and James McNally (Nikki); seven cherished great grandchildren, RC, Kellan, Dakota, Ricarda, Payton, Brayden and Logan; two devoted sisters, Shirley Maiorca, Joan Madonna and her husband Ralph as well as many nieces and nephews. Elinor was predeceased by her sister, Joanne Conner.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 2 to 5 PM with a Blessing to follow at 5:00 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ 08005. Private Cremation to follow. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
