Eileen Pappas

Eileen Pappas, 88, of Barnegat, NJ passed on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 peacefully at home. Born in New York City to her late parents, Patrick and Mary McGovern, she was employed as an Information Operator for New York Telephone. After moving to South Plainfield, NJ, where she lived for 30 years, Eileen worked in the Home Health Department at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield, NJ. She moved to Barnegat, NJ in 2003.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Michael; loving sisters, Margaret Lombardo and Marion Sullivan and husband, Bob; nieces and nephews, Lisa, Michael (Jen), Kathleen (Jim), Kieran (Tammy), Kevin (Trisha), Robert (Cheryl), Patricia (Jason), Missy (Michael); great-nieces and great-nephews, Hope, Siena, Alex, Kerri, Brenna, Madison, Reilly, Rebecca (Ken), Becky and Kiera.

She is predeceased by her twin sister, Kathleen Hennessy and her brother-in-law, Kieran Hennessy.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a Blessing to be offered 12:00 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. Entombment to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Manahawkin. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
