Edward F. Johnson Jr. passed away peacefully at home on January 19, 2025 at the age of 76 after a 13 year valiant battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born in Hoboken, NJ to his parents Mary(Walters) and Edward F. Johnson on October 31, 1948 he attended schools in Union City and Weehawken, NJ. Ed served his country in the US Air Force from 1967 to 1970 thirteen months of which were spent in Thailand. After the service Ed was a sales representative for major clothing manufacturers H. Freeman, Norman Hilton, and Takashimaya.
Ed was an avid golfer and pool player who won several pool championships at the Mirage Community where he resided since 2003.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Barbara Pinto Johnson, his sister Barbara Conner, brother, Stephen Johnson, nieces Jill Latimer and Joann Garcia and sister-in-law Alexis Pinto.
Donations in Ed's memory may be made to Wounded Warriors or Tunnels to Towers.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 1 to 4 PM with a prayer service to follow at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. Entombment to be held Friday, 11:00 AM in Ocean County Memorial Park, Waretown.
