Edward M. Gallagher, 83, of Barnegat, NJ passed on Friday, October 24, 2025. Edward was born in Manhattan, New York on May 23 1942 to Joseph and Dorothy (McMahon) Gallagher.
He is survived by his wife Patricia (Leahy) Gallagher, Stepson Gerard Egan, sisters JoAnn and Charlene, brother Gerard and wife Clare. As well as his nieces and nephews and extended families; Bartosch, Biggins, Cianci, Crocetti, Heyer, Hughes and Leahy.
Edward had a passion for music and was a member of the The New York Skyliners Drum and Bugle Corps and the Skyliners Alumni Chorus. He served in the US Army in Vietnam from 1964-66. Started a career with Con Edison as a lineman and advanced to a Field Customer Service Representative for 4 decades before retiring in 2000. He also assisted in starting the Dumont Elks Charter and became the 2nd Exalted Ruler.
At the end of the day, Edward loved family and friends, music, fishing, laughing and being the life of the party. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Dumont Elks, 15 American Legion Terrace, Dumont, NJ on November 16th at 1pm.
