Debra Graf Obituary

Debra Graf, aged 71, passed away on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026, at her home in Whiting, NJ.

Born to Joseph and Helen Wolf on October 15th, 1954, in Jersey City, NJ, her artistic flair began to develop early in life through her love of dancing; especially with jazz and tap. Through adulthood, she continued to grow in dance while she pursued other passions at the Newark School of Art. It was here where she honed the creative eye that would develop her career. Debra had a gift to see the beauty in all things around her. She found professional success as an architect, blending her artistic vision with a love of structural design, before eventually turning her focus to starting a family.

Debra was, at her core, a unique spirit. This was often best expressed through her artwork both on canvas and as seen in the beauty she created in the spaces she filled. She often seemed most at peace while redecorating the living room for the hundredth time and dancing to old Janis Joplin records while doing it.

Above all, she loved her family with a deep, if somewhat complicated, devotion. Though the road Debra journeyed on was at times difficult, it did not define the entirety of her heart. Her family chooses to remember the woman behind her struggles- the artist- the sister- the mother- without dimming the brilliance of the best days of her life, or of the love she held for those closest to her.

Debra is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Helen Wolf; and her granddaughter, Elia Pomar. She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Pomar and her husband, Marco Pomar; her daughter, Riki Duncan; her grandson, Marco Roberto Pomar; her brother, Joseph Wolf and his partner, Judy Dalton; and her brother Robert Wolf, and his spouse, Stanley Miranda.

A private family memorial will be held to honor her life and memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please consider a donation to a charity dedicated to addiction recovery in Debra's name.
