Charles J. Zehrer, Jr.

Charles J. Zehrer, Jr., 72, of Manahawkin, NJ, passed on Sunday, June 12, 2022 peacefully at home. Born in Perth Amboy, NJ to his late parents, Charles and Rena Zehrer, he is formerly of Brick, NJ and has been a resident of Manahawkin for 19 years. He was a Union Iron Worker with Local 373 for 36 years. Charlie was always there for his children’s sporting events, whether it be as a coach, or as a supportive father. He was known for his ability to have an engaging conversation with anyone. There is nothing he liked better than an interesting conversation with a friend.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Susan; three loving children, Kimberly Anne, and husband, Michael Sullivan, Philip Charles, and wife, Jessica Zehrer and Amanda Marie, and husband, Mark Griffith; eight cherished grandchildren, Lexi, Aidan, Ella, Hayley, Briana, Logan, Brody and Makayla; sisters, Charlene Urrutia and Gerri Lo; brother, Robert Zehrer.
