Catherine A. McAbee

Catherine A. McAbee (nee Racht Kohut), 73, of Manahawkin, NJ, passed on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin, NJ.  Born in Carbondale, PA to her late parents, Michael and Cecelia Kohut, she is predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas Dennis McAbee. Surviving are her loving children, Stephen, and his wife, Cynthia McAbee, Rosanne, and her husband, David Hogenbirk and Christine, and her husband, Thomas Gallagher; six cherished grandchildren, Heather, Stephanie, Matthew, Thomas, Erin and Ryan; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Ryder; two sisters, Sharon Druther, and her husband, Robert and Karen, and her husband, Sergio Mazza; sister-in-law, Judy Kohut; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. She is also pre-deceased by her brother, Michael Kohut. 

Viewing will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 from 4-7 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ. Mass offered Tuesday, 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat, NJ. Interment to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated. (see link below)  (www.BarnegatFH.com)
