Obituary
Catherine Mates, 103, of Manahawkin, NJ passed on Monday, August 7, 2023. Born in New York, NY to her late parents, Anthony and Meri Bono, she was one of eight children, all whom predeceased her. She is also predeceased by her beloved husband, Gregory. She is survived by her loving children, Karen and her husband, Thomas Sokol and George Mates; two cherished grandchildren, John Sokol and Michelle Davis and her husband, Jonathan; one great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Grace Davis.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 4-7 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 AM on Wednesday at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat. Interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Manahawkin.
