Carol A. Catena

Carol A. Catena, 87, Barnegat, NJ, passed peacefully surrounded by family, April 27, 2026. Born August 24, 1938 in Newark, NJ to her late parents, William and Anna Schmidt (nee Lassota), she was a high school graduate of Union High School.  Carol worked as a dental assistant and book keeper before retiring.  She was recently active in the Women's Club and a long time member of the Bowling League at the Mirage where she lived, and was a member of the Dusting Angels for St. Mary's Church. 

Predeceased by her husband Angelo Catena, she is survived by her children: Susan Ciancimino (husband Robert, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ), Stephen Catena (wife Nancy of Lake Worth, FL), Lynn Grant (husband Michael of Forked River, NJ); grandchildren: Stephanie Reilly (husband Christopher), Michael Ciancimino (wife Emily); great grandchildren, Ryan, Finley, Jackson, and Conor. 

Service Details- Open to friends and family: 

Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat, NJ.  Interment will be private. (www.BarnegatFH.com) 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause that was deeply important to Carol.
