Anthony (Tony) Paul Lombardo, age 71, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2023, after a valiant battle with Chronic Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. A native of the Bensonhurst neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY, he attended Nazareth High School where he was a cross-country runner and earned an award for the most improved runner for the varsity cross-country team in 1968. He attended St. Francis College and earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Language. Tony possessed an incredible skill to connect with people of all backgrounds and he utilized that skill to help others throughout his life and be a strong advocate of the Physically Challenged Community. He founded an online platform for people to share their experiences of overcoming adversity, and authored a book titled "On Both Sides of the Fence."
Although Tony was diagnosed with MS in 1983, that did not prohibit him from being a dedicated and loving father to his three children, Vanessa, Anthony, and Jenna. He was an active participant in their extra-curricular activities including Girl Scout country line dances, managing various little league baseball teams, and attending countless soccer games, track meets, and marching band events. His greatest legacy was his children, and his greatest achievement was earning the title of "Dad".
Tony is survived by his wife Vivian Lombardo (nee Giammona), his children Vanessa Lombardo (Thomas Ball), Anthony V. Lombardo (Monika Mazgaj), and Jenna Lombardo (Stephen Adams). He was the proud grandfather of Thomas James Ball, Jason Anthony Ball, Alexis Lombardo Ball, Oliver Anthony Lombardo, Grayson Anthony Adams, Zoja Konstancja Lombardo, and Asher James Adams.
