Andrew J. Sansone

Andrew J. Sansone, 91, of Waretown, NJ passed on Sunday, May 7, 2023 peacefully at home. Born in Paterson, NJ to his late parents, Andrew and Alice Sansone, he is a US Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. Andrew formerly resided in Totowa,  where he was very involved with his community and sports by volunteering with the PAL, serving on the Board of Adjustment for 10 years and coaching athletic teams in football, baseball and basketball. After working with a large trucking company for 39 years, he retired to Greenbriar in Waretown. He once again became active in his community. With his enthusiasm and his membership at the Health & Fitness Club, he became a driving force to outfit a new gym and to initiate water volleyball and softball games as part of the activities.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 71 years, Lovlene Sansone; three loving children, David and his wife Jean Sansone, Diane and her husband Neil Skyta, Jeannie Lynn Sansone; seven cherished grandchildren, David (Jen), Christopher, Scott, Nicole and Tara Sansone,Ryan and Lindsey Skyta; six cherished great grandchildren, Louis, Brionna and Olivia Sansone, Andrew Twilly, Oliver Turner and Elliot Balla; two devoted brothers, Richard and Alan Sansone. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Tiffany and his brother, Ronald.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 8:30-9:30 AM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday, 10:00 am at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat. Interment to follow in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
