Alice J. McGowan

Alice J. McGowan, 66, of Waretown, NJ passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020. Born in New York City to her late parents, George and Alice McGowan, she was raised in the Belford and Leonardo, NJ area before settling in Waretown 35 years ago. Alice had a genuine animal love for all animals. It was this passion that resulted in her becoming the owner of Alyie's Dog and Cat Grooming.

Surviving are her four loving children, Patrick Jensen and fiance Laura Mullaney of Forked River, Joseph Jensen of Asbury Park, Michele Schied and husband Cayce of Manahawkin, Michael Jensen and wife Kathryn of Manahawkin; eleven grandchildren, Patrick, Christopher, Ryan, Alyson, Drew, Tynan, Michael, Jacob, Sean, Shea and Callie; two brothers, George (Billy) McGowan and Christopher McGowan.

Memorial Gathering Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 5 to 7 PM with a Blessing 6:30 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Alice's memory to the Popcorn Park Zoo in Lacey Twsp., NJ greatly appreciated.
