Alan J. Torsiello of Waretown, NJ formerly of Hillside, NJ passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the age of 83. Alan was born and raised in Newark, NJ and was one of eight children born to Albert and Mary Amelia Torsiello. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and siblings Marie Torsiello, Richard Torsiello, Gail Terranova, Harold Torsiello, Reverend Ralph Torsiello, and Elizabeth Walker.
A hardworking and skilled carpenter, Alan ran his own business before retiring and relocating to the serene Jersey Shore. There, he found peace in the simple pleasures of life: gardening, working in his yard, and enjoying the sunshine on his front porch. Whether walking around his development or staying active at the gym, Alan maintained a spirited love for life. He cherished his visits to Atlantic City, where he enjoyed the company of his wife, Beverly, and their friends.
An active member of the community, Alan was deeply involved in his parish, St. Mary’s of Barnegat, as well as local organizations like the Italian American Club and Greenbriar Men’s Club. He particularly looked forward to summers spent playing Bocce ball with his wife and teammates, along with fun days at the beach and pool with family.
Alan is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Beverly, their children Alan Jr. and Beverly, and their spouses Lakisha and Don. He was a proud grandfather to Amber, Alan, Nina, Skylar, and Grayson. He is also survived by his brother, Roland, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom will remember him fondly.
Alan’s kind spirit, dedication to family, and passion for life will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
