Marie Sofia

Marie Sofia, 86, of Barnegat, NJ passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Born in Jersey City, NJ to her late parents, Frank and Mary Tavaglione, she formerly resided in Long Island City, NY before retiring to Barnegat over 20 years ago. Marie enjoyed living at Heritage Bay in Barnegat where she headed the Social Club and was a member of the Rosary Prayer Club. She also gave of her time by volunteering at the Southern Ocean County Medical Center in Manahawkin, NJ and was a communicant of St. Mary's Parish.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 39 years, Ralph Sofia; her devoted brother and sister, Frank Tavaglione and Elaine Carroll; as well as many loving nieces and nephews whom she adored and treated as her own children. Marie was predeceased by 2 brothers, Nicholas and Michael Tavaglione.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass which will be offered 1 PM on Monday, January 20, 2020 at St. Mary's Church, 747 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ.
