Marie A. Drappi

Marie “Bubbles” (Belotti) Drappi, 87, of Manahawkin, NJ passed on November 3, 2018 in Bonita Springs, FL. She was born April 14, 1931 in Newark, NJ, to her late parents, Margaret (Lusty) and Lawrence Belotti, where she attended Barringer High School.

Predeceased by her husband, Henry “Hank” Drappi in 2006; a son, Henry Richard “Rick” Drappi in 1978; two brothers, Richard and Arthur Belotti, Marie is survived by her son, Larry Drappi; grandchildren, Michelle and Christian Drappi; special niece, Diane Palmieri (Belotti) and many good friends and family.

She worked for an Insurance Company in Newark, Credit Union at Schering in Union, and Bank in Manahawkin through the years, but really loved being a mother and home maker. Marie was a “mother” to many of the friends of Rick that went to Southern Regional with him in the early 1970’s, and many still call her “Mom.”  Every year they would visit her and Henry and help them put up the Christmas tree and enjoy her homemade cream puffs.  She was an excellent cook, and loved to make something for anyone that would visit.

She was a strong supporter of Stafford Township Police during Rick’s years there and ever since. Marie also loved to host Larry’s company parties every summer, where employees and friends would enjoy her backyard pool, and many Italian dishes, like sausage and peppers and her famous rice salad. Marie moved to Florida in 2015 where she enjoyed the warm weather.
