John Clark, Jr. Obituary

John J Clark, beloved husband, father, and Pa passed away on May 8, 2019. We believe that his passing may have been to end his suffering at the hands of a Trump presidency. Although, it may also have been due to the shock of the New York Giants selecting Daniel Jones in the first round. We are still not certain.

John was born on September 7, 1951 in South Amboy, NJ to John Clark and Rose (Jaskowiak) Clark. He attended the University of Dayton in Ohio, but his unrequited love of the Philadelphia Phillies drove him to transfer to Saint Joseph’s University. Then he met and married, the love of his life, Janet (Nealon) Clark. Together they had two daughters and seven grandchildren. John was a devoted follower of sports. His knowledge of the NY Giants and Philadelphia Phillies, was only surpassed by his extensive recollection of rock and smooth jazz bands from the 70’s and 80’s. John was an avid gardener and often had the greenest lawn on the street. Even as his health began to fail, he made sure that his landscapers kept it that way! His generosity was unmatched: John grew the tastiest tomatoes and cucumbers in such an abundance that all of his friends and family were able to enjoy them throughout the summer.

Most of all, John proudly loved his family and will be greatly missed by them all. He is survived by his wife, Janet, of 43 years, as well as: his brother, Mark and sister-in-law Linda Clark, his daughters Kelly and Kaitlyn, his sons in law, Robert Lindsay and Christian Baco, and his grandchildren, Patrick, Timothy, Nolan, Grace, Quinn, Eamon and Maggie.

If you are ever in Dyersville, Iowa, take a trip to visit him in the Field of Dreams and have a jack and ginger in his memory.
