James R. Howley, 61, of Manahawkin passed Friday, May19, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Jersey City, NJ he is a US Navy Veteran.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 37 years, Carol Anne Howley; five children and their spouses, Jeremy and Heather Howley, Patrick Howley and Jessica Steele, Allison and William Cordes, Erin and Timothy Federico, Eric and Sherri Howley; sixteen cherished grandchildren,Kayla, Patrick James, Annabelle, Sofia, Jayson, Joseph, Bryan, Kassidy, William, Barbra, Maryann, Noah, Jaidynce, Maely, Brad and Evan James. Also, surviving him is his loving sister, Colleen and husband Michael as well as his many caring nieces, nephews, and relatives. 

He enjoyed fishing and gardening, he loved music, sports, and above all the outdoors.  His greatest joy was his family.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 25th from 1 to 4 PM with a Blessing Service and Military Honors to follow. 4 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ.There will be a gathering at the Lanoka Harbor volunteer fire house on Route 9, after the service.  Family and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to his Go Fund Me Page via the James Howley Sarcoma Fund.
