Gordon J. Marzano, 90, of Barnegat passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017. Born in Newark, NJ and a former resident of Union and then Long Valley, NJ, he is a US Army Veteran of WWII and The Korean War.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 60 years, Norma Marzano; two loving children and their spouses, Gordon, Jr. and Maria Marzano, Sandra and William Hermes; four cherished grandchildren, Natalie, Shaye, Tanner and Nicholas; two devoted brothers, Daniel and Peter Marzano.  A third brother, Joseph, had passed.

An avid sports fan, Gordon enjoyed golfing and rooting for his beloved Yankees and NY Giants, and remained constantly optimistic as a diehard fan of Rutgers football.  In high school at East Side in Newark, he was a key member on their 1945 state championship football team and was also a member of their 1946 state championship baseball team.

Viewing will be Tuesday, Oct. 17 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat.  Mass will be offered Wednesday 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Barnegat.  Interment to follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
