Gerard A. Veglia

Gerard A. Veglia, 87, of Barnegat passed Sunday, October 7, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newark, NJ he is  a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He formerly resided in Union, NJ for many years, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and enjoyed being a baseball coach. Gerard worked as an Assistant Director for the Board of Education in Livingston, NJ. After moving to Barnegat over 30 years ago he was an active member of the Pheasant Run Golf Club.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 61 years, Rose Veglia; four loving sons and their spouses, Jerry and Maria Veglia, John and Cheryl Veglia, James and Cynthia Veglia, Robert and Debbie Veglia; eight cherished grandchildren, Gerard, Alex, Nick, Alexis, Ashley, John, Anthony and Domenick; his adored great granddaughter, Clare; devoted sister, Rose Gradone.

Viewing Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 11 AM to 3 PM with a Blessing Service at 2:30 PM followed by Military Honors at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat. Private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital appreciated.
