Gary W Armour

After his year and a half long battle with cancer, Gary W. Armour, 67, of Barnegat, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019.  Anyone who knew him knows he did not go down without a fight.  Gary resided in Barnegat for 45 years with his wife, Susan.  He had worked for Wawa in Barnegat prior to his diagnosis.  Gary loved to shoot pool and spent most of his free time doing just that.  He was a member of several billiard leagues throughout southern New Jersey and enjoyed spending time with his fellow teammates (a.k.a. his second family).  Gary was always trying to make people laugh and never looked for sympathy for his condition; most never even knew how sick he really was.  He had a heart of gold and was the guy you could always count on. 

Gary is survived by his wife, Susan Armour; daughter Kristie Dickert and her husband John; sister Sharyn Meyer and her fiancée Frederic Brown; sister Denise Feret and her husband Gary; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his father, Philip A. Armour; mother Marion Armour; and brother Philip A. Armour, Jr.

Viewing Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 4 to 8 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Barnegat Funeral Home on Friday May 17, 2019 at 9:30 AM with Services to be held starting at 10 AM. Entombment to follow in White Cedars Cemetery, Manahawkin, NJ.
