David Pace Obituary

David A. Pace, 74, of Barnegat passed on Monday May 7, 2018 at home. Dave was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.

Born in Jersey City NJ he grew up in Passaic, NJ and graduated from Passaic High School, he served in the US Navy 1961-1964. He loved cooking and made the best pies and rice pudding in the world.

After the Navy, he married his wife Joan and they raised four children in Parsippany, NJ before moving to Heritage Point, Barnegat, NJ in 2004.

Dave started Suburban Real Estate on Rt. 10 Morris Plains, NJ in 1973 as Owner, Broker and Appraiser. He went on to partner with his wife Joan in business in Pleasure Coach Motor Leasing Company till 2003 and in Stuff Distributing, Pet Products till present.

Dave sold Christmas Trees at his office from 1974 to 2003, he loved old cars especially his 1960 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud. He enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, camping and picnics and swimming with family and friends in Parsippany and playing Bocce at Heritage Point.

Dave belonged to: Morris County Board of Realtors, National Association of Real Estate Appraisers, NJ State Board of Real Estate Appraisers, National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers, Par Troy West Little League as team sponsor, Par Troy West Girl Scout, Eastlake School Cub and Webelo Scouts Pack Chairman and Leader, Parsippany Hills High School Booster Association President, Parsippany Hills High School Band Parents Association President, St. Christopher's Youth Group Advisor, St Christopher's Antioch Advisor, St. Mary's Knights of Columbus Council 3826, Barnegat, NJ, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Council 0658 Brick, NJ.

He was predeceased by his parents Tony and Helen Pace and is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Joan, his daughter, Donna-Marie Murphy and husband Patrick, Waxhaw, NC, his daughter Christi Burkman and husband Paul, Naugatuck, CT, his son CWO3 David A. Pace, Jr, USN, and wife CWO2 Layla A. Pace USN Retired, Suffolk, VA, his son Pete and wife Alejandra Pace, Los Angeles, CA. Also, Seven Grandchildren: Christopher & Gavin Murphy, NC, Ashley & Brittany Burkman, CT, Chelsea Gmiterek, Layne and Dale Pace, VA.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 13th from 2 to 5 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. The Funeral Liturgy will be Monday 10 AM at St. Mary of the Pines, 100 Bishop Lane, Manahawkin, NJ. Internment will be at Bg. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ.
