Arthur R. Spinner, 101, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed on Friday, December 28, 2018. Born in Mt. Vernon, NY to his late parents, Ralph and Genevieve Spinner, he formerly resided in Yonkers, NY for many years. Arthur served as a communications officer in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He continued to serve his country in the Air Force Reserves; The Air National Guard in New York State; and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
He was employed at New York Telephone and continued to be involved with communications in his personal life as an amateur radio operator. He helped service personnel get messages to their families as part of MARS (Military Auxiliary Radio System).
Arthur lived and enjoyed life to the fullest. He could be found playing an array of instruments in a band, to acting in plays and ballroom dancing several times a week well into in his 90's.
Predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy Spinner, he is survived by his loving son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Jacqueline Spinner; two cherished grandchildren, Brian and Katie Spinner.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 11 AM at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
