John R. Posemato

John R. Posemato, 49, of Barnegat, NJ passed on Monday, April 1, 2024. John passed quietly and peacefully surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Born on November 15, 1974, already with a wrench in one hand and a stopwatch in the other, the man raced through life.  Because of his love of fast cars and speed, he began his lifelong career as a master mechanic/engine builder/diagnostician.  At the early age of 15, he disassembled a car engine on his Mom's kitchen table.  John started technical school at 18 for his auto mechanics certificate and a real love of his profession throughout his life.   He was a man of many hats, actively involved in racing, camping, fund raising for Autism and a Christmas caroling hayride where he helped put smiles on many faces.  Living in the "fast lane", he had the need for speed.  His love of his racecar was apparent to all who knew him.  If you rode motorcycles, cars, trucks or any motorized vehicle, John found a way to make it fast.  His heart was so big, he would work out of his own garage after hours, even in the rain to help someone else.

John had the most infectious and charismatic smile and laugh that affected all who surrounded him, lighting up an entire room. His wife Carrie, his grandchildren, his sons, his sisters, mamma, in-laws, nieces and nephews, his fur baby Zeke and all in his family made him the happiest man alive.  First and foremost, he dedicated himself to family, being a role model and cherished ball buster for them all, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Artie.

 John's journey touched the lives of many, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of strenth and resilience.  He fought his last battle and the Lord called him up.  We all lost a great man.  This world was truly a better place with Quazie in it. The final words John would say out loud and proud, “WTF” with the biggest smile on his face. 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carrie; four loving children, Jonathon Posemato and his wife, Cortney, Matthew Posemato, Hunter and Peyton Dasti; four cherished grandchildren, Benjimin, Melodi, Braylyn and Brynlee; loving parents, Timothy and Grace Posemato; two sisters, Theresa Van Pelt and Jane and her husband, Lance August; devoted dog, Zeke; many adored nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Craig Belec; sister-in-law, Jeanine and husband, James Frederick.

Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 12:30 to 4 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. (www.barnegatFH.com)
