James Dicso Obituary

James Albert Dicso passed away April 2, 2024 at the age of 80.  He leaves many to cherish his memory.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Judith Dicso (Mangano).  He is the proud parent of James J. (wife Karrie), Michele (husband Mike) and Nicole (husband John).  He was the brilliant and very best POP to his grandchildren Kelley, Chris, Jacob, Ethan, Mia and Declan, and was most proud of his special connection to each Grandchild.  Also survived by Rosemarie Molinaro (Mangano) – sister - more than in-law, many wonderful nieces and nephews and dear friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents James A. Dicso & Margaret Dicso (Tokar), his brothers Daniel and Gary.

He attended Cliffside Park High School and it was there that he met Judy while visiting the Carvel ice cream store – where you could hear him regularly say “does it get any better than this?!”.  This past fall Jim was inducted into the Cliffside Park High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his skills on the football field in addition to receiving varsity letters in Track and Wrestling.  He attributes his experience of playing football at Cliffside Park with the opportunity to grow beyond the Palisades and take both his football and education further at Auburn University.  He received his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1966.  War Eagle! He served 2 years in the US Army in Ft. Huachuca. He began his 40 year career in the technology space with Hewlett-Packard in 1966, where his career and upward growth took him to Colorado and Germany.  He returned to New Jersey and finished his career having moved from Hewlett-Packard, to Cisco Systems and finally Veritas.

Anyone who knew Jim would recognize his intelligence, wit and humor and know of his passion for HAM (Amateur Radio Operator), Auburn sports, his and Judys shared passion for travel, good food but most all his love for his family and friends.
