Donald G. Mondie

Donald G. Mondie, 87, of Barnegat, NJ passed on Monday, April 15, 2024. Captain Donald Mondie was a Green Beret, 1st Special Forces, 82nd Airborne, Senior Jumper during Vietnam Era. He was a victim of Agent Orange which stole his health. Captain Mondie served in Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and Okinawa. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Association as well as a graduate of John F. Kennedy Warfare School, Frt. Bragg. Don graduated from Rutgers University where he lettered in Fencing. He was a logistics and quality specialist at the Department of Defense for 30 years. He also worked and volunteered at a Vetwork, a Veterans Service Organization on Ocean County.

He was a strong man with a gentle heart; An Officer and a Gentleman.

Born in Newark, NJ to George and Jeanette Mondie, He was a beloved husband of 38 years to Susan Marmione Mondie; loving dad to his pride and joy, Dr. Christopher Mondie and his wife, Elsie and devoted Uncle to Kevin Kelly and his wife, Rayna.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 6 to 8 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
