Vera L. Nordstrom, 94, formerly of Holmdel, NJ passed peacefully on May 19, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Barnegat.  Born in Rustburg, VA to Sarah and Jason Winebarger, she was predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters, and her loving son, Butch.

She was a WWII Navy Aviation Machinist who served her country proudly.  She wasn’t your typical grandmother, as she loved to hunt, fish, fix cars and play her guitar and many other instruments without reading a single note.

Vera is survived by her daughter, Lee Bach of Barnegat, NJ and her four grandchildren and their spouses, Debbie and Mike Brew, Joe and Deanna McMerty, Mary and Art Guerrera and Jason McMerty. She had ten great grandchildren who adored and loved her very much.

Her family gratefully acknowledge the wonderful staff at Spring Oak assisted living in Lanoka Harbor and Vitas Hospice for all their loving care.
