Rich Saparito, 80 of Barnegat passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Garwood, NJ, he spent most of his life in Barnegat and Westfield, NJ, where he worked in the electronics industry, retiring in 2002. After retirement he worked for several years selling real estate, cherishing the friendships he made through his work.  In his earlier years he donated his time and talents as a bowling coach and a volunteer with the Westfield First Aid Squad, helping others, as he did continuously throughout his life.

Rich enjoyed spending time with his family, including his wife Gail of 58 years, whom he adored until the moment he passed away.  He leaves behind three children and their spouses, Kim Saparito-Austin and husband Kurt, Rick and wife Mary Ellen, Brian and wife Danielle, as well as eight grandchildren, Brian, Brent, Stephanie, Sara, Maureen, Rick, Mason and Jake, two great children, Haley and Savannah, and two brothers and four sisters.

When Rich wasn’t hosting a house full of company, he enjoyed playing golf with friends, his children and grandchildren, sometimes spending winters in Florida to enjoy the warm weather and play year round. 

Rich will be sorely missed by everyone who touched his life.  Friends can say farewell during a Memorial Gathering at the Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ on Friday October 20th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 747 West Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ on Saturday October 21st at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would truly appreciate donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Richard's name.
