Leonard Morano, Jr., 75, of Barnegat passed November 24, 2016. A resident of Barnegat Twsp. for over 40 years, where he was employed by the Board of Education, he felt a civic minded responsibility towards the improvement of his community. Starting in 1973 “Lenny” held such positions as Twsp. Committee Person, Police Commissioner, Deputy Mayor and ultimately served as Mayor of Barnegat Twsp. in 2013. He was also a devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Barnegat.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Joann (Lanzetti) Morano and a brother, Anthony Morano he is survived by three loving children, Leonard J. Morano, III, Joseph F. Morano, Kelly Ann Monek; five cherished grandchildren, Brittany, Kayla, Khiana, Kylie and Giovanna; his devoted sister, Carol Doran; his devoted brother, Joseph A. Morano.

Viewing Sunday, Nov. 27 from 2 to 7 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat. Mass offered Monday 9:30 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Barnegat. Interment in Garden of Memories Mausoleum, Washington Twsp., NJ.
