Kenneth T. Egerer, 67, of Barnegat passed October 4, 2016 at home. Formerly of North Arlington, NJ, he was a US Army Veteran who served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He then worked as a police officer with the Kearny Police Department, where he served as Treasurer for the Kearny PBA, retiring after 25 years. Kenneth's thirst for knowledge earned him a Masters Degree in Education, and he went on to teach at Paramus Catholic, as well as Don Bosco Tech. He also became a Certified Financial Planner and ran his own business for 35 years.

Kenneth moved to Barnegat 12 years ago and gained great satisfaction from being President of the "Beach Bums", a non-profit local Corvette Club whose aim was to donate funds to local food banks, and provide scholarship awards to children throughout Barnegat, Manahawkin and Long Beach Island. Kenneth also sat on the Barnegat Planning Board as an alternate member.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 45 years, Susan Egerer; his loving son, Jared Egerer; his devoted sister, Patricia Egerer.

Viewing Friday, Oct. 7 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat. Mass offered Saturday 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Barnegat. Private cremation to follow.
