Karen M. Thalasinos (AKA “The Baby Whisperer”), 62 of Manahawkin passed away peacefully in her home on June 23, 2017. She was born Karen Charles in Newark, NJ, raised in Nutley, then moved to Barnegat before settling in Manahawkin, NJ. Surviving are her husband, Matthew C. Thalasinos and two sons, James C. Thalasinos and his wife Jenifer Halter-Thalasinos and Thomas M. Thalasinos.

Karen was one of six children, predeceased by her parents, C. William Charles and Irene (Fine) Charles, and a brother, Michael Charles. She is also survived by four siblings, Barbara Spires, Patricia Charles, Gerard Charles and Eileen Watters.

Karen was a dedicated mother, wife and homemaker, possessed a caring heart, beautiful soul and a love of life and music. She had a passion for babies, and had a calming effect on them. She was a proud member of the Barnegat American Legion Auxiliary.
