Joseph Somers, 85, of Barnegat passed peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. Born in Dublin, Ireland he traveled extensively and emigrated to England, Canada and throughout the United States, before settling in Barnegat, NJ 16 years ago. Predeceased by his beloved wife Clare, he is survived by three loving children, Cathy Furiano, Patrick and wife Cheryl Somers, Colleen and husband Kevin Halverson; five cherished grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Eamon and Padraig Somers; two sisters, Muriel and Phyllis Somers.

Viewing Friday, May 26th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat. Mass offered Saturday 12:30 PM at St. Mary’ s Church, Barnegat. Private cremation to follow.  (www.BarnegatFH.com)
